As the Lead Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) at Smile Makers Huntsville, you'll be at the heart β€οΈ of our practice, supporting our talented dentists π¦· during treatments, exams, and patient consultations. Youβll oversee back-office functions and mentor a fantastic team, all while growing and challenging yourself professionally π.
What You'll Do:
- Patient Prep: Greet and prepare patients for exams, complete precise digital charting, and verify codes π.
- Imaging Expert: Capture high-quality x-ray images πΈ.
- Treatment Assistant: Assist dentists with a variety of procedures, including RCTs, Cord Packing, Crown Seat, and Denture Adjustments π οΈ.
- Sedation Savvy: Get familiar with sedation treatments β we provide additional training! π
- Sterilization Station: Delegate and support the setup and sterilization of exam and treatment rooms πΏ.
- Patient Advocate: Discuss treatment options, provide teeth polishing and sealant placement (with required certifications), and create uplifting patient environments β¨.
- Team Leader: Teach team members scheduling, patient care, and sterilization standards π©βπ«.
- Process Improvement: Manage patient flow and streamline visits, ensuring maximum efficiency β±οΈ.
- Guidance Guru: Guide patients through post-care instructions and assist with company-provided prizes and dismissal π.
- HIPAA Hero: Understand and adhere to HIPAA guidelines π‘οΈ.
- Inventory Insider: Complete inventory orders and stick to the office budget πΌ.
About You:
- Licensing: Texas Issued Registered Dental Assistant Licensing π.
- Experience: 4-5+ years of dental assisting experience π¦·.
- Certifications: Sealant Placement (course provided if 2+ years of experience), Nitrous Monitoring, and Coronal Polishing preferred (courses provided if 1+ years of experience) π

- Skills: Proficient in digital x-rays and charting π».
- Leadership: Experience training team members and conducting challenging conversations π£οΈ.
- Key Traits: Strong communicator, self-starter, flexible, innovative, highly engaged, detail-oriented, and a team player with stellar customer service skills π.
